window trim bunching up

Discussion in 'General Motoring' started by John Marretta, Feb 2, 2004.

  1. the black tape trim on my 2003 elantra (bought in July 2003) keeps bunching
up along the lower edges. I have had it in to be replaced twice and now it
is doing it again. Anybody else have this problem? Has it been solved? I
know the elantra is priced relatively cheap but this shouldn't have to be
fixed every every couple of months

My '02 EGT has the same problem... they will take care of it under warranty,
but the problem may still persist.

I read on another forum that a guy had his car redone twice. Under
warranty of course. On the third time he stood his ground and spoke
with the regional rep who approved repainting the door trim instead.

I noticed a couple of tiny wrinkles in my wife's trim when I washed it
this summer. So far it hasn't worsened. (knock wood)

    Art:
As long as you only wash the car once a summer, it should
    be ok. =;-)

On the third time he stood his ground and spoke
    well that's a good idea.

Yeah, I had the tape on my Sonata's driver-side front door replaced.
It took them about 90 minutes to do it.
