Assuming you are in the US.... " Q: Tell me about the Hyundai warranty. A: As the original owner, you have a 5 year / 60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, and a 10 year / 100,000 mile Powertrain warranty (on 1999 and newer models). As the second (or subsequent) owner you would lose the 10 year / 100,000 mile Powertrain warranty; however, you would have the Powertrain coverage that is included under the remainder of the 5 year / 60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. (If second owner were an immediate family member, then the entire original warranty would go to the second owner.) Terms of the warranty are explained in the Owner's Handbook. " The info between the quotes was copied/pasted directly from www.hyundaiusa.com. The start of the 'years' portion of your waranty starts from the original purchase date. Any dealer can get this date for you if you a have the VIN#. BTW... Enjoy your new accent.
Unless you bought it from a family member, the warranty has been cut to the bumper-to-bumper 5yr. You lose the extra 5 years on the powertrain.
