Squeaky turns on 2001 Accent

Discussion in 'Hyundai Accent' started by Christopher Wong, Sep 30, 2004.

  1. My 2001 Accent squeaks rapidly when I am making a tight turn (at low
speeds). The car works fine otherwise, so I'm wondering if this sort of
noise requires timely attention or I can just ignore it until I need to send
the car to a mechanic for some other reason.

Could be brake pad wear indicators. Have it checked soon.

  3. Doesn't sound likely. It's a rapid, rhythmic squeak, and it happens even
when the car is stationary. Since it only happens when I have the wheel
turned almost to the max, I'm wondering if it's just a normal power steering
    thing.

Okay, I understand now. No, certainly that's not the brake wear
indicators. Check the tension on the alternator and power steering belts.
On a 2001, the belts won't be warranty anymore.
