Santa Fe Clock and computer?

    I have a 2003 Santa Fe, V6, 3.5L 4wd.

I have noticed lately the clock (the one that actually tells you the time)
will cut on and off, and, it *appears* when it does that the engine might
experience some bucking. The frequency of the clock cutting off is
increasing, as is the duration of the time it is 'not on."

Any ideas a) what could be causing it, and b) is it possible that there is
a connection between the clock and the car's computer, such that one is
causing something to happen with the other?

I had my 2002 Santa Fe headliner down and with it the clock. Looks like it
is just powered by 12V battery. For it to gain time, you would have to have
some pretty fast glitches in the 12v bus. I can't imagine it has anything
in common with the Computer other than power.

The clock has an ignition input. It is only meant to turn on when the
ignition is in on/acc. So anything which could interrupt power to your
ECM and clock at the same time could be the culprit.
