I have had the Santa fe GLS for more than 2 years and I continue to be very
unhappy with the radio reception. My other car (a chrysler sebring) does
not have similar problems. Huyndai has tried to fix it but cannot find
a/the problem. Is anybody else experiencing this? Is it simply something
that cannot be rectified given the way the antenna is built into the rear
    window?
    Thanks,
    Klaus

  3. Well I don't know what the problem is either cause I had the same factory
radio in my Accent that my girlfriend has in her Santa Fe and the reception
is definitly poorer in the latter.

About a month ago my radio was take over by martains..... as I am
listening to sports talk show, it changes to CD1 and no audio, then
back to radio with loads of static. If I turn off the radio, it comes
back on at full blast without notice & not immediately. When it is in
CD1 mode you cannot turn it off.

So yesterday in 19 minutes I got a new one & all sounds great!

  5. Just for my own curiousity, is it AM or FM or both? I have an XG350, and
I'll almost bet they are the same radio.

The FM is pretty good, but the AM is a worthless piece of junk. You can
almost build a crystal radio like we used to have as kids, and get better
reception. The Koreans must not have broadcast 550 to 1700 khz AM in their
country. It has to be either that or engineer that designed it never went
past third grade or studied electronics.. My AM on a 5000 watt station
    receives about 5 miles.

  6. Well I have to say we don't listen to the farm reports much (AM) but I had
the same radio in my Accent and definitely got better reception than in the
girlfriends Santa Fe, and now I have a Golf and it's head and shoulder above
her Santa Fe for radio reception but that's comparing apples and oranges. It
must be the antenna or something in the Santa Fe that is the problem.
