Next to the Hand Brake inbetween the diver/passinger seat, there is a
switch. The switch list power and normal. I have uses this switch and I
notice no difference in operation. Power may (and this may be a placebo
imaginary observation) shifts a little stiffer. Is there a purpose for the
    switch?

This switch changes the transmission's shift schedule a little. In power,
the transmission will downshift sooner on acceleration, and will hold the
    lower gear longer before upshifting.
