Had daughter drop car off this morning after making appointment and
explaining that the ECS light and ABS light were on and that the left
rear disc was heating up the rim on occasion. Had pulled wheel off
myself and removed rear caliper checked pads they were loose cleaned
carriages and lubed the parking brake pads showed no signs they were
    dragging.

Dealer had to order part, brake light switch how would this effect the
    left rear disk?

Don't feel the car is safe to drive any distance and had parked it for a
week waiting for appointment. Just hoping that they had diagnosed the
problem correctly because the invoice reads "rear brakes not sticking
brake light sticking on because of bad brake switch".

The switch won't affect the brakes at all. But it'll turn on the ABS/ES
lamps. How did you determine that the brakes were heating up the rim

Left rear brake only and the rim was extremely hot and the smell of
burnt rubber on exiting car was first sign of problem.

It's pretty normal for the wheel to get hot when driving if you have dis
brakes, especially if it's a steel wheel. A bout of heavy braking wil
cause what you've described, but it should also affect all the wheels

Other wheels warm to touch but not uncomfortable and I have after market
rims which are very open. The left rear has smoke pouring off of it
after 10 min drive in one direction all four lane highway with only
braking done during trip was to stop at one red light and park. Was
unable to keep hand on rim due to temperature.

Talked with service manager yesterday and still awaiting parts, told him
not impressed took a week to get first appointment only to be stuck
waiting for parts. Car is not safe to drive and not happy with what the
service technician wrote on the invoice after telling him 3 times that
it was left rear that was overheating.
