My 2003 Hyundai Elantra GT has 26,000 and the clutch just broke on it.
The clutch didn't slip or show any signs that it was about to break.
It just suddenly broke one day at a stop light. I've owned several
manual cars and haven't had any problems with clutches before. I
don't race my vechicle or do anything out of the ordinary.

I've taken the car to the dealer and of course they won't cover the
repair because a clutch is a "wear-and-tear" item and they have
determined that it is "driver error" that has destroyed the clutch.
I've written and talked to the Hyundai Corporation. They won't listen
to me either. Is there anything I can do to prove that there was some
sort of defect with my clutch? They want me to pay over $900 and I
just can't believe they would treat me like this.

What specifically is wrong with the clutch causing it not to work? What
specifically is wrong with any associated parts that need to be replaced?
How did they determine it was driver error? Without these facts, it's hard
to make any conclusions about whether they're correct.

Unfortunately, the clutch is only warranted for 1 year/12k miles for wear.
However, the clutch is warranted for 10 years/60k miles for defect. To
make your case, you'll have to have some way of showing that the clutch is
    defective, not just worn out.

Wear-and-tear items ARE covered under warranty, but NORMAL
wear-and-tear is not. Breakdown of clutch at 26,000 is not considered
    normal unless it was abused.
