    Hello
I removed the factory stereo and replaced it with an aftermarket stereo
Now the air bag light is on. Is there a way to reset it.
Is there anything I can check to lacate the problem.
    Thank

The lamp can be reset with the dealer's scan tool, presuming there is n
    actual problem with the system.

Of course, replacing the stereo shouldn't affect anything that will tur
on the air bag lamp in a 2001 Sonata. Did you remove the gauge cluste
while the ignition was on? Did the battery get very low while th
    ignition was on

    Thanks Hyundaitech
I did not remove the gauge cluster at all. I took apart trim around th
radio again to check all the conections, to be sure I did not loosen on
of the air bag wires. Everything looked good, then I took apart the tri
that meets the carpet on the passenger side where I snaked the wires fo
the sub woofer I mounted in the trunk.
Everything looked good there also. Maybe this is just a coincidence.Bu
all was fine before I installed the new stereo, and the light came o
right away after the install. I bought this car new and never had an
accidents, so the air bags have never been deployed. the battery did no
    get low at all
Thanks for any help you can offer

There shouldn't be anything in question behind the radio. There's a
impact sensor on the passenger side as well as a seat belt pretensioner.
Check to make sure the connectors didn't come off of these. If yo
unplugged either with the key on, it would have caused the air bag lamp t
come on. I'm presuming you disconnected nothing under the front sea
(which would also cause an air bag lamp if unplugged with the key on)
