    Hi,

My 2000 Sonata transmission works fine the rest of the time. But when I step on it to get around something on the freeway, instead of downshifting to 3rd, it goes down to 1st or second. The engine redlines but the car actually slows down. And the only way to get it to upshift is to let completely off on the gas. All this can be hazardous to your health on a SoCal freeway. Any ideas? Thanks.
