Car has 42k on it. 5 weeks ago after car sat all night went out to find park lights flashing slowly in time to a relay I could hear clicking under dash. Battery was about dead. Had car towed to dealer. Dealer shop said battery was bad and replace under warranty. Last week exact same thing happened except this time dealer charged battery and said they could not find any problems after keeping car 3 days. This is getting old, to buy a new car that I can not depend to get me to work. Anyone else have any issues like this or can advise me on how to correct. By the end of the year I will have 60k and out of warranty hate to just trade this off and it become someone else's issue. Any chance of warranty covering rental and loss of work coverage in the future? -- Richard Ator Natty Flatt USA http://nattyflatt.blogspot.com/ Always remember before you can become old and wise you must be young and stupid. Perhaps you need a different dealer? Sometimes, though, if a car is not doing what it was doing, it is impossible to find the problem. At a minimum, I'd check botht he switch and the blinker for the four way flashers. Perhpas once the temperature drops to a certain point the flasher kicks in? Very doubtful they'd pay additional costs. You may, however, continue to have some coverage since the problem was reported, never diagnosed, and returns. You may want to go on record with both the dealer and Hyundai office that the problem is unresolved.
Do you lock your car? Could someone be playing a prank on you by turning on your emergency flashers? That would be entirely up to the dealer. Some will provide loaner cars, some won't and it certainly won't hurt to ask. No one is going to cover any loss of work, so don't even bring it up.
