My sonata is almost at the 30k maintenance. What can I expect to be shelling out?
The only thing that you should be paying for (provided that you want the dealershipt to do anything) is an oil and transmission change. These you could do yourself as well but at the most, that is what the dealer should do. You can change the air filter yourself. I'm not sure about the 03s if you have to drain the coolant or not as most recent cars can you can keep the coolant in as long as the time you will need to change the timing belt. Don't get suckered into one of those package deals as all it is in fluff to get a larger profit for work not done. Nick
I just had this issue come up, one dealership said i was going to ahev to pay 370 ish for their 30 k package deal, then i went to another dealership and I only had to pay $140, but they only did the oil change, air filter and coolent, They did not do a spark plug change (it required in the manual) but they said i have 60k spark plugs, and that they looked at them and they did not need to be changed. Is a transmission fluid change required? Becasue they did not do that either
Also forgot to mention spark plugs, as they only cost a few dollars it's a good idea to change them. If not I wouldn't go past 50k with them unless they are platinum. I believe most platinum plugs can go about 100k before they need to be changed.
